'You're like a fat crocodile'

I thought the movie was pretty dumb but Ben Kingsley makes it worth it watching. This is just a taste.

Ice Cube -- 'Death Certificate' (full album)

This album still tells you everything you need to know.  And it still rocks.

'The Miracle of Morgan's Creek'

Paramount Vault has a selection of full-length movies on a You Tube playlist. Shweet. I can't help thinking that Paramount has made 42 billion more movies than just these or that they could've started off with maybe a better selection of flicks but shit, man, free movies. Here's a title from the great Preston Sturges.

'Public enemy he calls me!'

Francis Ford Coppola vs. John Milius

The only thing that could make this conversation better would be copious amounts of red wine.  (Why isn't there copious amounts of red wine here?)

Yogi Berra (RIP)

"In theory there's no difference between practice and theory.  But in practice, there is."  -- Yogi Berra
Heh heh, never heard that one before. It's true. Yogi was 100% right almost all the time.

19th Century Political Cartoon search

I had a hankering to see how political satire was visualized in post-Civil War USA. I'm a little surprised (pleased) how few of these panels I actually understand. Some of them I don't get the humor, some I have no idea what they're even referring to; I point this out because I was expecting that the most enduring images would relate to historical events/trends that I had studied at some point. Nope, it appears that in the 1800s everybody bitched about everything all the time. My, how times haven't changed. Also, I'm not sure if people were fatter back then or if cartoonists just had bigger eyes.

This is the one I was expecting to find:

2015 FIBA America 3rd Place Game Highlights

The final minute of this game was amazing. Canada was the clear favorite in this tourney, waaaaaay more talent than everyone else.  Had to eke out a bronze medal at the buzzer against host team Mexico.  ....Oh, Canada.  Still, that last minute was superb sport.

War Babies -- 'Terrorists'

Yup.

'You have burned so very bright'

One of my favorite film scenes ever.  I would've preferred this clip included the elevator ride up to the penthouse but no matter, this is good stuff.

Frisky Dingo -- 'Killface Focus Group'

When I read that Donald Trump was encouraging Kanye West to run for President, I immediately thought of Killface fretting over the choice of Taquil as his running mate.  Couldn't find that scene but this one kinda works too.

EVO 2004 -- Justin v. Daigo

I'm not much of a video game guy by nature, I'm more of a sports nerd.  But I appreciate good competition at any level and this is about as badass a 3 minutes of going-at-it as there is.  About two and a half minutes into this clip comes one of the most unlikely and amazing comebacks I've ever seen.  If you're not sure what you're looking at, just follow the crowd, they'll be going nuts.

Ivan Lendl

Garrett Morris & Julian Bond (SNL)

Couldn't find the whole thing but when I heard the great Julian Bond passed away, I instantly thought of this sketch from back in the day.

Handsome Live in St Louis (3.21.97)

What a weird thing to find on the internet.  You can barely hear the vocals over the people talking, which incidentally is what the world sounded like before we buried our faces in cell phones.  (The future is only annoying in the sense that the past wasn't any better)

The Slits -- 'Heard It Through the Grapevine'

The song has been going through my head non-stop lately.  Worse ways to go.

You still wanna get high after listening to this?  Tsk, tsk.

Never seen in the Central Time Zone.  This is why God invented the internet.

'Sneakin' in the Movies' (from 'Hollywood Shuffle')

Caught 'Furious 7' the other day and was reminded that those guys really know about the levels of gravitivity and polarity.

Tayshaun Prince Swats Reggie Miller

Tayshaun was a rookie, Doc was a commentator, Larry Brown still had a job in the NBA and Reggie Miller wasn't yet a Hall of Famer. This was the moment that cemented the Pistons as a for-real power in the Eastern Conference for the next 5 years. Seriously, as significant as any single play of the last 15 years of professional basketball.

Saw this many years ago.  Thought of it the other day, sought it out, found it, posted it.  The Internet is the cause and effect of all things.

'A Morning Stroll'

John Harden -- 'La vie d'un chien'

I saw this film a few years back at a film festival and was blown away by it.  I check every now and again to see if its made its way to You Tube and thankfully the answer is yes.

The Byrds -- 'The Christian Life' (rehearsal take)

(Do you know who Terry Melcher was?)
