There's a theory that Caravaggio was on the run for murder when his paintings finally got popular and he was tagged by the Vatican to be their homegrown cultural response to the Protestant Reformation. Good thing God forgives, huh?(There's a similar story about another one of the pictured people on my blog, can you guess which one?)
