I'm in the process of moving.
From one house to another.
There is stuff still here
and stuff now there.
And I find myself at half since my possessions are now of a split identity.
In times of tumult I rest my body and mind by watching films. I'm eager to get into a new film-watching groove, the kind I haven't had in some time and I'm all about popping in a video tonight (since I'm pretty sure the Lakers will dust the Magic again tonight, did you see Tiger tearing it up today? Bad ass). But I have only one DVD left at home, Ramin Bahrani's Man Push Cart, which I had hoped to watch in the new house. I must have a thousand films in some form or other on book shelves I've lugged around for years. Now the only film available to me is the one film I had hoped not to watch. I'd much rather be watching a Bunuel film than living one.
